Semi-detached bungalows in the mangrove waterways adjacent to Royal Phuket Marina in Koh Kaew, Phuket
Maybe you've always longed to live in a truly rustic, almost jungle setting -- have we got the house for you! It lies only a stone's throw from posh Royal Phuket Marina in tambon Koh Kaew on Phuket Island, but it is eons away in time. Our two semi-detached bungalows are shrouded by mangrove trees, and we've planted the grounds to mango, banana, and kaffir lime, as well as a number of other useful kitchen and cocktail ingredients. The houses are new, have electrification, indoor plumbing and a concrete driveway. These are their sole modern conveniences.
But that doesn't mean you won't want to live here: a long deck over-hangs the mangrove channel in back, with kitchen facilities and plenty of seating for parties. Each bungalow has a bathroom and two bedrooms. The mangrove channel behind flows to the sea and is navigable by canoes and rubber craft. The mangroves themselves are home to a cornucopia of bizarre creatures much studied by scientists and (sought out for the table or market by natives). Before the house is a well with freshwater year round and a picnic bench. The bungalows are unfurnished.
Owing to the semi-detached design, both can be rented as a single four-bedroom or divided between families.
Rent per bungalow = ฿3,000 per month -- or take both for ฿6,000.
Tambon Koh Kaew is in the heart of Phuket island, equidistant from Phuket town and Thalang District. It is extremely convenient for travel to Phuket International Airport, to Cherng Thalay, Pa Khlok and the many shopping and entertainment venues lying along the Bypass Rd. British International School lies just across the street. The two principal marinas on the island, Boat Lagoon and Royal Phuket Marina, are within easy walking distance.
If ever youi've wanted to experience life in the jungle -- while yet having convenient access to civilisation -- this is the place for you.

Sitting on your deck, this is what you see. You can paddle a canoe along this channel. If you've a bug for biology you can simply sit on the deck of an evening and study the many fascinating life-forms of the mangrove. Bird fanciers will likewise be enthralled by the many winged creatures that find haven in the mangroves.
